Today my arm feels like it's about to fall off. For months I have had the tell-tale tingling and sharp pains. I cured it a while back by swimming regularly but I haven't had the chance to swim for the last few months. I know that I should go to the doctor but I don't want to be told that I cannot use a keyboard. My job is impossible without a computer but I don't exactly think I would be told to sit at home until I recover. My working days would be insufferable without a computer. I'll be on holidays in a couple of weeks so the pain should clear up and I'll start swimming regularly again. If my arm is as painful as this in the longer term I can see myself hanging up my keyboard for good. Anybody looking for a hunter-gather with no experience but very much enthusiasm to get back out to the wild?

Tyler Durden: In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You’ll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You’ll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you’ll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway.
Aidan, RSI definitely shouldn't be ignored or it might get worse. It doesn't have to be debilitating if you get the right treatment such as exercises. It might also help to position your hands differently when using the computer or reposition the computer itself. I haven't had it myself so can't give you any detailed advice but no doubt there's plenty of stuff on the net and your doctor should be familiar with RSI as loads of people develop it. I wouldn't want your blog to disappear!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery Aidan. I've been visiting Faoiseamh regularly for the last few months and been greatly entertained and enlightened. Hanging up your keyboard would be a great loss to the blogosphere!
Sorry man, tagged you with another meme

Thanks for the good wishes TC, Nick and CW.
I am taking a break from computer work in as far as possible so we'll see where we are after my trip to Ireland.
Just the thing man:
